These cards are for both Angela's White Card Challenge and Cindi's Christmas All Year! Challenge, August Edition. In real life the left sides are straight, not curved the way they scanned. Also, the flowers have some dimension to them. That's probably why the flat part looks curved. http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&forum_id=22&thread_id=3247955 [twopeasinabucket.com]http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&forum_id=22&thread_id=3247322 [twopeasinabucket.com]Angela, I used silver cardstock to edge the white poinsettias because it was easier than using the silver ink, and I was afraid of making a mess with the pen. I probably disqualified myself, but I'm posting anyway because your challenge inspired these cards. I die cut lots of pieces two or three months ago, and these are the first cards I've made with them. Thank you for getting me started.Cindi, I now have 43 Christmas cards made. Thank you so much for your challenge.ETA: I thought the second card looked very plain with too much blank space so I added a fine line around the border with a Prismacolor Premiere Metallic Silver pen. Card #2 is now Card #3.CARDS:4 1/4“ x 5 1/2”Neenah Classic Crest Solar White CardstockKrylon Silver Leafing Pen (to edge the mats)Wausau Paper, Royal Metallics Cardstock, Chalice Silver (to edge the white petals)Dies:Tim Holtz Alterations, Tattered Poinsettia, by SizzixEmbossing Folders:Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades, Tattered Poinsettia, by SizzixStampin' Up! Then I looked at the die-cut flower and thought how I'd need to take out a stylus and foam mat to emboss some veins onto the petals. The next day I remembered that I had the companion embossing folder for the poinsettias. Cool! Unfortunately, the embossed poinsettias on top of the embossed mat was too much embossing! I ended up making two cards putting the embossed flower on a plain mat and a plain flower on the embossed mat. Much better. I used the Crafter's Pick glue to attach the white poinsettias to the silver ones. I used a paper stump to shape the petals a bit, and assembled the petals with glue dots in the centers and pieces of foam tape where the petals curved.TFL.Daria
