I was stamping with Nora when I looked over and she was using Crayola Metallic pencils to color on black cardstock where she'd placed a gold outline-type sticker. Gorgeous! I immediately pulled out my six Prismacolor Metallic pencils and tried them out. Then I tried one of the Crayola pencils. The Prismacolor put down color much more smoothly. I wanted to play with more than six colors so when I got home, I ordered some Faber Castell Metallic Eco Pencils (very inexpensive) and some Derwent Metallic Pencils (twice the price of the Faber Castell). In my opinion, the Faber-Castell pencils went on more smoothly than the Derwent. In fact, the copper Derwent would hardly leave any color at all even after I resharpened it and tried again. After all that, I didn't have a really bright red so I tried a regular, non-metallic Prismacolor pencil. It worked great on black! I did note that some of the regular colors work better than others. Anyway, I had a lot of fun coloring these images.CARDS:4 1/4“ x 5 1/2”My Heart Stamps for You – 1st three cardsMaryse Carrier – 4th and 5th cardsPenny Black – 6th cardAspects of Design – 7th cardVersamark InkRanger's Seafoam White Embossing PowderGold Embossing Powder on last card (Sorry, I don't remember which one I used.)Judikins black cardstockBazzill mats and framesRecycled corrugated paper on the 1st cardLil' Boss Diamond Corrugator used on the mat on the 2nd cardBasic Grey patterned paper on the 4th and 5th cardsPrismacolor Pencils, both metallic and regularFaber Castell Metallic Pencils (I think)Robins Nest Dew Drops on the 4th cardDies by Spellbinders:Nestabilities Labels Twelve – 4th and 5th cardsNestabilities Labels Eight – 1st three cardsMega Nestabilities Curved Rectangle – 6th cardNote: The third card was my first experiment using regular pencils instead of the metallic ones. I used a base coat of white or 10% grey on some of the flowers. That allowed some shading, and the colors were more vibrant. I messed up the staming on that one but decided to keep it anyway.TFL.Daria
