Anna-Karin, thank you for your challenge. I have tried quilling a few pieces before, but I never made anything with them. It's embarrassing, but the best advice I found was in a Klutz book for eight-year-olds and up. (If the glue isn't drying in 5 seconds, you're using too much. If the circle doesn't expand when you release it, you're winding it too tight.)

Well, I did finally switch glues. I was using the one that is sold to use with quilling, but it would not hold no matter how little I used. It's so thin. It's also old; I wonder if that matters. I know I used it when it was new and didn't have a problem. I ended up using Ultimate Crafter's Glue. I know it's too thick for quilling, but it did the job. What do you use?

I tried using a Prismacolor alcohol marker to color the pearls, but it didn't work well. The color wasn't even, and the pearl went flying; I still havent' found it. I ended up putting a few drops of alcohol ink in a very small plastic bag and dropped a few pearls in that. It worked great.
