Finally, I made another card. This one is based on Kimber's Saturday Sketch for 2/18/12. http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/projects/challenges/1802346-saturday-card-sketch-challenge-with-kimber/ [twopeasinabucket.com]
Even with a sketch, it took me forever to make this card. I kept trying variations of the sketch, but in the end, the sketch worked best. I also was trying to use two border punches for Ann's challenge. That was not so easy; the sketch only had one border. http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&forum_id=22&thread_id=3150810 [twopeasinabucket.com]
April's Buttons and Bows was a cinch since it fit right in with the sketch. http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&forum_id=22&thread_id=3150819 [twopeasinabucket.com]
CARD: 5“ x 7” Bazzill cardstock Neenah Classic Crest, Solar White
Personal Impressions scene stamp – Versafine Vintage Sepia
Michael Strong Sentiment stamp – Versamark and Ranger's Clear Superfine EP by accident, Ranger's Seafoam White on purpose
Punches – Martha Stewart and EK Success (Plaid Design)
I have been wanting to use my Stamp It! block stamps forever. I saw a demo at a stamp show and loved what I saw. I bought the tape I thought the demonstrator was using to mask between the lines, but was I ever wrong. I bought Sookwang tape (Score tape) in various sizes. Even when I put the tape on my skin and on my jeans several times, it stuck; when I got it off the paper came with it. I ended up using Scotch Removable Tape. It was so much fun to cut the thin strips!
I added the sentiment after I added the button. Mistake. I couldn't use the Stamp-a-ma-jig right side up because the button was in the way. I used it upside down; I even remembered to use the stamp upside down. Then I grabbed the clear EP out of pure habit even thought the white EP was on the desk, and the clear EP was in the drawer. I'm so used to using that one. So I went ahead and embossed the sentiment with clear. Then I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig again, offset the sentiment slightly, stamped it again, and embossed it in white. It's heavier looking than I would have liked, but I kind of like the shadow effect.
I enjoyed making this card. I used stamps I hadn't used before; I played with the punches that I don't usually use, and I dragged out my boxes of buttons!
Thank you, Kimber, Ann, and April, for the challenges. Daria
