This card is for Stampwilly's challenge for Hangover Week–use a technique found on cards posted to her WSW11 Water World Challenge.

Stampwilly used masking and sprays to create the beautiful background on her sample card.

That's one of my favorite techniques and I used it on the background of this card.

Also, Crafty Doll used color pencils to color in the cute image on her card, Changito in the Rain.

I've been wanting to practice more with color pencils, and this was just the little push I needed.

Thank you both for the inspiration.

CARD:
4 1/2 x 6 1/4, Bazzill Cardstock, Cinnabar

BACKGROUND:
140-lb. hot-press watercolor paper
Ferns and iron cross used as masks
Stamp Zia watercolor sprays (citron, Fire & Opal, Ruby, Garnet, Slate)

FOCAL IMAGE:
60-lb. Bristol Vellum
Taylored Artwork Stamp (Thank you, Nora, for this wonderful gift.)
Versafine Vintage Sepia Ink
Prismacolor Color Pencils
Zest It Parchment Blend
Marvy Uchida Southwest Corner Punch

While I colored in my image, I looked at one that Nora had painted with watercolors. It helped me to see what was what, and gave me courage. I'm very happy with the results, and I look forward to using color pencils more often.

Stampwilly, thank you for offering this extra challenge. I enjoyed making this card, and I still have one more to post.

TFL.
