This card uses the Patent Leather Effect that I saw in Judi Watanabe's video tutorial “Elegant Embossing.” Judi's card was shiny black; mine is a bit splotchy. If you read how I made it, you'll understand why.

4 1/4“ x 5 1/2”
Card–Bazzill Cardstock
Focal image–smooth white cardstock
Stamp–Whipper Snapper Designs, “Solid Daisies”
Fantastix Brush Applicator
VersaColor Pigment Ink–(Fiesta, 1 pad with 5 colors)
ColorBox Pigment Ink–Black
Ranger Clear Embossing Powder
Swarovski Flatback Rhinestones–Jet, SS16

Judi inked her stamp with three colors of pigment ink, starting with the lightest shade first. I used Fantastix Brush Tip Applicators to put pigment ink where I wanted it on the stamp.

Then I embossed the image with Ranger's Clear Embossing Powder.

Next I rubbed a black pigment pad all over the entire piece including the image. (Unfortunately the ink pad disintegrated and stuck to the card. I wiped off most of it, and tried a different ink pad; it worked fine.)

The last step is to heat emboss the black ink with clear embossing powder. It's like magic. The original image reappears.

The effect reminds me of Joseph's Coat without having to rub off black ink.

TFL. Daria
