This time I colored first (stenciled) and then added the embossing paste. I used regular embossing paste to see how well the colors would show through, and I liked the subtle look. (Note: I tried this on another card with Color Box Fluid Chalk Inks, and they did not show through as well.) While the paste was still wet, I added clear glitter. Voila! Note: The glitter shows up as non-shiny specks on the image–looks like the image didn't stamp well enough. Once again, you'll need to use your imagination to see the sparkle.
The sentiment is one of a complete set of the Twelve Days of Christmas. I won the set along with many more stamps from Quiet Fire Design during their first blog hop last year. Thank you, QFD!
I wanted some glitz on the sentiment so I spritzed the whole thing with a solution of Pearl Perfect Pearls and water in one of Tim Holtz's mini-misters. I liked the soft look of this, but it hardly showed up unless I was in sunlight so it didn't balance the glitter that was on the focal piece. I used a Spica Clear glitter pen to go over the ink on the sentiment and border. That added just enough shine to make me happy.
