II'm on time this week! Just when I was ready to beg that the deadline be at 2am so that West Coast Procrastinators could indulge our bad habits just like non-West Coast Procrastinators. It does feel good not to be rushing to make my 10pm deadline!
The background on this was so easy to do, and I like the way it turned out. I've used alcohol inks on regular paper and on Tyvek before and thought that it just used up too much ink, but I like it on the watercolor paper, and watching Jennifer's technique on the video helped a lot.
I wanted to stamp the ornament with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I could not get it to emboss. I even tried inking the stamp with Versamark first and then the Chipped Sapphire. That helped, but it was still not acceptable. I ended up using the Versafine Majestic Blue just because it embossed so well. I wish I'd tried the Versamark with Adirondack Denim; I think that would have worked. (I know that distress inks are embossable; I've done it many times. I don't know why it wouldn't work this time.
I also tried stamping the Chipped Sapphire onto paper that had been sponged with Metallic Silver Dabber Paint and embossed that. You can see the result; I ended up using it as a shadow ornament on this card. The ink practically disappeared, but you can see the embossing.
I had the brilliant idea of cutting the inside of the hook out by using a paper punch. I ended up without the hook, so I made my own out of wire.
