This technique is not your challenge. Be sure to visit my challenge blog to check out the details of the challenge.Challenge Blog: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/userblogpost.asp?id=47060 [twopeasinabucket.com]Discussion Thread: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=3030004 [twopeasinabucket.com]The technique used in these cards and the idea for the design came from Nancy Curry's book, Texture Effects for Rubber Stamping. Background Technique:1. Apply powdered pigments to black glossy cardstock.2. Apply alcohol inks over the powdered pigments to blend and dissolve them. Nancy used an acrylic dragonfly for her embellishment. She applied Brilliance Moonlight White to the back and used the Polished Stone Technique to apply alcohol inks on the front.MY CARDS:6 7/8“ x 5 1/2”Judikins Black Glossy cardstockUnknown sage green suede paperJudikins Embossable Window Plastic (I love this stuff!)Pinata Alcohol Ink and Claro ExtenderAdirondack Gold MixativeNancy used Interference Gold and Interference Green Pearl Ex. I didn't have Interference Green so I used Duo Green Yellow on Card 1 and Spring Green on Card 2. I'd like to try this technique again using two interference colors.I dabbed the Pearl Ex on with my fingers and then spread it around.I applied Pinata Lime Green and Sunshine Yellow Alcohol Inks and Pinata's Claro Extender with a blending tool and felt. The powders dissolve and the overall effect is really cool. I stamped the butterfly all around the cardstock with Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink.EMBELLISHMENT:I applied Brilliance Moonlight White Ink directly onto Judikins Embossable Window Plastic and dried it with a heat tool. This will be the back. On the other side (the front) of the plastic I stamped the butterfly with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with Ranger's Clear EP. Also on the front, I used the Polished Stone technique again with the same colors as before plus one single drop of Adirondack Gold Mixative. I applied the acetate butterflies to the card with glue dots.Thank you for looking. I hope you'll check out the challenge. ETA: I forgot to mention that I used a black Tombow marker to edge each piece of black cardstock, including the card base. I forgot to edge the curved pieces on the first card I made (the second one posted), and you can see the difference especially when you tilt the card. It looks much more finished when the edges are inked.
