This was my third workshop using metal stencils and embossing paste at Jazzy Crafts in Castro Valley, CA. This time the store hosted Lynell Harlow of Dreamweavers, and she focused on using metal leaf over the paste-embossed image. I love this technique. It gives such beautiful and impressive results. Lynell gave lots of tips as she taught the class. She also gave each of us a stencil. Thank you, Lynell.

All of the stencils and embossing pastes are from Dreamweaver. I used 140-lb. hot press watercolor paper on the two rose cards.

Card #2 -- 5" x 7"
Bazzil Crimson cs and Judikins Black Glossy cs edged with Tombow black marker
Watercolor paper sprayed with Stamp Zia Ruby Color Wash Jewels and Adirondack Cranberry and Wild Plum Color Wash, edged with Tombow Marker #757
Black Glossy Embossing Paste
Swarovski flatback crystal (SS16, Jet)

Note regarding glue pads: All of the cards made during the class were made with Superior's Palette Glue Pad. Lynell and a few of the class members said that Tsukineko's Glue Pad didn't work well with this technique. I had already used it at home with good results. I like it because you don't have to heat it before applying the metal leaf. I used it on the two Rose cards that I made at home. It thought it worked fine. I will try the Palette again and see if I notice a difference.
