About 4 1/4“ x 6 3/4” Card–SU cs Matting–Judikins black glossy cs
Oh, how I love this technique! I've been wanting to try it out forever. I posted some steps so you could see how easy it is.
I went through my scraps and pulled out some similar colors. (I already have some pulled for other colors too.
Step 1. I used a glue stick to attach some strips of scraps to a piece of cardstock. The widest piece is 3/4“. The narrowest is that solid piece, only 3/8”. If you are interested, look below to see what the scraps were.
Step 2. I trimmed the pieces making sure everything was squared up. In the next step you'll cut across the patterns.
Step 3. I cut across the different patterns to make 1/4" strips. As I cut them, I put them on a piece of cardstock using temporary adhesive to keep them in order. This also allowed me to adjust their placement up and down until I was happy with the pattern they created.
Step 4. I happily had a piece of cardstock I had already put through the Xyron machine so I cut a piece of that to permanently attach the strips. Notice that the adhesive-backed cardstock has to fit so that it doesn't extend beyond any of the strips. (I put a piece of acetate over this to protect my scanner. It's not a part of the card.
Step 5. Trim away the excess adhesvive-coated cardstock, and it's ready to be made into a card.
