Weekly Sketch #2 -- Includes updated versions of tag

The stamp is Eat Cake Graphics, colored with Gelly Roll Glaze pens. "Bon Voyage" is Purple Onion Designs. Both stamped with Versafine. Slick Writer used for black edging and hand-written words. Cardstock is SU. The word "Read" is a Two Peas Font--Architecture, I think. The tag was cut out with a Coluzzle template and stippled with Ranger's Distress Ink, Antique Linen. Fibers are unknown (E-bay lot). The reinforcement around the punched hole is Dennison DeLuxe Gummed Reinforcements. (I found them when I was cleaning out my dad's room. A year ago, I would have tossed them out.)

I must have put the fiber in six times at least. I was wearing out the hole in the cardstock. I'm glad I had my dad's reinforcements. First I put the loop in the front. Then I put it in the back. But every time, one would escape. Then I remembered a wonderful tool I've been saving for years. It's an antique shoe buttoner. I just stuck that through the hole and pulled all the fibers through at the same time. I knew that would come in handy.

I wanted to stamp a couple more items at the top–a small world globe, an airplane, and a boat, but I didn't think there was enough room. That's why I ended up writing on the tag. I wish I had stamps for words like Explore, Adventure, Dream, etc. Now that it's done, I think I could have stamped those things and just used a part of the stamps.

Edited to add new versions of the tags: I changed the original tag by distressing it a little with Ranger's Black Soot Distress Ink and by stamping some Hero Arts travel stamps with Versamark. For the second tag, I used the same things, but I colored the images with Tombow Markers. Also, I used more colorful fibers. (Tina, I finally got to use one of the beautiful fibers you sent me. Thank you.) I also cut out and pop dotted the ECG image with some foam squares. That makes it a bit hard to insert the tag and take it out. Next time, I won't do that on a tag. Let me know what you think of the updated versions when I successfully post them. The gallery is down again. TFL. Daria
