I tried Leni's Peeled Paint and Vaseline Technique. I used a foam brush to paint on Golden's Fluid Acrylics. When the paint was dry, I stamped the images and made an oval template with the Coluzzle to mask the image. I rubbed Vaseline over the area within the oval. On the yellow card, I put yellow over the original ochre and left it to dry. (I've learned my lesson about doing something assembly-line fashion when I do it for the first time.) When it was dry, I tried rubbing the second coat of acrylic off the area I had covered with Vaseline. Guess what. It didn't budge. What is it with me and trying to rub ink or paint off. The same thing happened with Joseph's Coat. Leni, you would have laughed to see me trying to get it off. I gave up. I cheated. I covered up the center section with that cut-out oval and repainted the border–this time with acrylic paint from a tube.

OK. When I put the second coat of acrylic on the blue card, I used Liquitex acrylic paint direct from the tube. After it had dried, I was able to rub it off the area covered by Vaseline. I like that method best because it has a more irregular shape, and I like that. By the time I got almost all of it off, I'd rubbed a little too hard in places so I took Diamond Glaze and painted over the whole thing to perk it up a bit. I wish I had used some white pencil or something to make the butterflies stand out a bit more before putting on the Diamond Glaze. I decided to use a Glaze Pen on the small butterflies. Of course, the white one dried clear so it made no difference whatsoever. Best laid plans and all that. . .

Leni, I had fun doing this. I'd never used my acrylic paints so it was really nice to get them out of the boxes, and I've already learned something about them. The hardest part for me was waiting for things to dry. I didn't want to test it and get fingerprints on it. Next time I'll paint a little extra piece so I can test that one instead of the card. Thank you for the directions. I'll always think of this as Leni's Technique.

The blue card is Bazzil cs, unknown glossy blk and SU matting, and the stamp is PSX. The yellow card has unknown cs and a piece of my Crinkled Chalk bg, and the stamp is Magenta. TFL. Daria
