My second new technique is one I've always wanted to try–Joseph's Coat. I brayered Kaleidacolor ink onto glossy cs and let it dry. Then I stamped the image with Versamark and heat embossed it with Clear Detail EP. I let that sit a bit before doing the third step. I then brayered black Memories ink over the entire piece of glossy cs, image and all.

Now my troubles began. One set of directions I read said to stamp with a bold image or a bold-lined image. I tried a couple of rather bold flowers and, just to see what it would look like, I stamped with a Judikins bg stamp. The next step was to polish the black ink with a cloth which also removes it from the embossed image. First I tried rubbing the black ink off with a paper towel. When that didn't work, I double-checked the directions. Ah-ha. I was suppose to let the black ink dry completely. OK. I waited. Then I tried again. Uh-uh. No way was it coming off. I waited some more. After all, today was hot and humid. Maybe that had something to do with it. I abandoned the paper towel and went in search of a soft cloth I sacrificed to the cause. Finally, I was able to get the black ink off of the Judikins bg image. In fact, it began to look ok. It polished up nicely; a circular motion worked best. I went back to the bold floral stamp, and while I got some more of the black ink off, it still looked horrible. On one of the bold images, I got the ink off almost completely but you couldn't make out the image. Not at all. I tried to save that one by drawing in the lines. An artist I'm not. It went into the garbage. The other one never came clean; I've posted it here just so you could see what went wrong. TFL. Daria

Note: I don't know why the images appear blurry; they aren't that way in real life.

ETA, 10/15/09: I added two more images. The Blob Revisited, and another Judikins bg card. To see these latest entries, you have to click on the non-flash option. The only difference between these and the earlier cards is the type of black ink I used. This time I used Adirondack dye ink. It worked much better than the Memories ink.
