Here are my first four cards and the original serendipity sheet before stamping. I forgot to scan it after stamping. Before cutting, I stamped with HA flowers and a Stampendous image. (Actually, I did use more, but they don't show up on these cards.) The only thing I stamped after cutting out the squares was the gold figure on the squares on the last card. That came from a very old foam-mounted SU set with Mexican figures. I embossed everything I stamped. I sprayed some of the squares with Krylon Black Webbing Spray. I haven't put in any sentiments yet--not sure who gets what and why.
Cardstock is SU (yellow and lavender), Bazzill (black and red), and unknown glossy black. All of the pieces I used for the squares came from envelopes. I used Perfect Paper Matte Adhesive to adhere them to the cardstock. I followed some advice I came across and overlapped the edges of the cardstock. When dry, I cut off the extra with an Olfa Rotary Cutter. That worked so well I used it to cut out all of the squares. The squares are 1 1/4-inch square--the width of my metal ruler. The squares for matting were punched with CM punches.
I still have lots of squares and three very narrow 11-inch strips from the one 8 1/2 by 11 serendipity sheet.
I hope everyone has as much fun as I did making these. TFL. Daria
ETA: I'm adding a fancy-shaped Chinese coin to the left-hand bottom of the fourth card. I keep getting ideas for finishing these. Any suggestions are welcome. Always. Daria
