Some of my favorite pages from my KI Memories contest album. The album is dedicated to my grandmother Maria and Aunt Juanita who had to sell their X-mas dolls they recieved every year for food. They got full time jobs on their own at age 11 and 12 at the general hospital in Los Angeles after their mom lost her legs and eyesight to diabetes. At school they were just used for cleaning and cooking and weren't learning much of anything. They spent their first paychecks on a mink coat for their mom and two dolls to keep! So whenever I travel I always make sure to buy a doll.
