This is my younger DS at about 18 months, in the surf of Grand Traverse Bay (northern Michigan). Journaling reads: “In July, we went camping in Traverse City. The weather was sunny and gorgeous the whole time that we were there. One afternoon, we went down to the beach by Grand Traverse Bay to go swimming. Although Brian had been in a swimming pool, this was his first experience with ”big water.“ Sitting in the sand at the edge of the beach, he seemed mesmerized by the frothy surf washing over him, as well as by the roar of the waves and the feel of the snappy wind in his hair. The water was cool, so we didn't let him stay in the surf too long. After snuggling in a big towel for a few minutes, Brian was happy to spend the rest of the afternoon playing in the sand under the shade of a big tree.”
