This little book is constructed from a vintage children's game board I bought for a dollar at an antique mall in Wisconsin. The neat thing about the game board that made it ideal to use as a book cover is that it is two-sided; I didn't have to cover either side with paper. I used red duct tape and seven gypsies gaffer tape to holding the binding strip in place. Before I glued the signature inside, I cut three pieces of twill for page markers and sewed vintage buttons to give them some weight. I didn't make the signature- I bought it from a book making store. I sanded the corners of the game board to round them, and I also lightly sanded the cover to scratch it up. I used a Heidi Swapp Chipboard letter, acrylic paint, and Utee for the big "L". I found some textured type-writer key stickers to complete the title. I have the worst memory since I've had my son, Paul. If I don;t write it down, I'll forget. I made myself a little treat to take to work/school with me so I can keep track of my tasks at work, and also take care of my family!
