A layout attempt for the PKPT 05 contest. My parents when they first started dating. The middle part opens to reveal the journaling.<p>journaling reads: My mom and dad met and fell in love so quickly. The story still amazes me today. They met in January 1961 and were married by August. Forty-four years, four children, and seven grandchildren later, they are still married and in love. My mom and dad worked at the same rocket company. Mom worked in the print control department and Dad was a mechanical engineer. Some mutual work friends insisted that they go out. Dad asked her out and they spent the day in Monterey. Many dates quickly followed including a trip to Yosemite in Dad’s red Triumph. Dad proposed after two months of dating. He had found someone who he felt would make a good partner and keep him on the straight and narrow. She said yes when he proposed at the Woodside Village Pub. Mom was twenty and Dad just twenty-two, but everyone was happy for them. The wedding took place August 6, 1961 at St. Claire’s in Santa Clara. By their first Christmas together, Mom was pregnant with my brother Perry. Soon came Denny, Shan, and myself. Mom and Dad bought the house in San Jose in 1966 and have lived there ever since. Young love is an amazing thing and life is wonderful when you find the right person to share it.
