Sara's theme for her journal is color. I chose the color blue since it's my favorite. Page 1 has a piece of denim cut from an old pair of jeans. I wrapped some blue fiber from Adornaments around the denim. The blue beaded mermaid and bug were made by my dd Katie. I made the blue swirl with a punch and painted it with acrylic paint. The blue calico background is fabric. The pp that has the word “blue” printed on it was made using MS Word. I then covered the pp with a hologram sticker sheet…you can't see the effect on the scan, but it's got a blue sheen to it IRL. If you pull the blue shiny ribbon on the bottom of my pic, it reveals the journaling which is underneath the photo. It reads, “Blue has always been my favorite color. Most of the time I'm drawn to the soft, muted blues. I find them calming and relaxing to look at. On the other end of the blue spectrum, I absolutely love the wild, electric blues, for when I'm feeling a bit wacky of excited. There is a shade of blue to match every facet of my personality. The very best way I love to see blue is when it is paired with a bit of green. I use this color combination often in my scrapbook layouts. Another great blue is Mediterranean Blue…I don't know if that's a color, but it's the color of the ocean in the Mediterranean and I find it to be the warmest, friendliest, most inviting shade of blue of them all. My birthstone is aquamarine, a beautiful light blue stone. Of all the gemstones, I find the sapphire is the loveliest of all to look at, especially the Ceylon sapphires, which are lighter and clearer in color than the dark blue sapphires that we see most often. By far, the most beautiful blue I've ever seen is in the eyes of my boyfriend George.” On page two there is a strip of blue Bazzill over the fabric background, more beaded swirlies made by my daughter, two circles made from Sculpey clay and painted with acrylic paint and covered with Mod Podge, a blue and green ribbon across the larger circle, a blue rhinestone, a stamp from China, and a picture of a gem cut from a magazine. I used blue trim from the fabric store to make a border and the large wooden heart is painted with acrylic paint and inside is a strip of floral ribbon and a piece cut from a paint chip. The tag is cut from a gift bag I found at the dollar store. This was so much fun to put together! TFL!!!
