Bruce and I drove to Northampton, Massachusetts on Saturday to do a little family history on my Clark line. One of the original settlers of the town was my 7th great-grandfather William Clarke, who came to the New World in 1630. We found his grave, and enjoyed a little visit to the historic museum, where we picked up a copy of the old plat map showing where all of the settlers lived. I created this layout by blending in an old image of New England from the era, with the plat map and a painting of the area by Victor de Grailly. The pilgrim image is clip art. The signature is his, found in a book of the history of Northampton. The headstone reads:LIVETEN (Lieutenant)WILLIAM CLARK AGED 81YEARS HE DYEDJVLY 19 ANO 1690The fonts are Chap and Goudy Hundred.
