&We had so much fun paddling around the Hood Canal this summer on our makeshift kayaks that when we stayed the night over Thanksgiving weekend, we had to give it a try! The water was frigid, but since technically you aren't in the water for more than a few seconds walking in to launch, it wasn't that bad. John wore his wetsuit and gave me his booties- which were lifesavers! My feet were toasty warm. It was clear and calm, no wind at all, so it was a blast! We are so addicted. I think a couple proper kayaks are in our near future.
