Saturday DH and I went to the awesome area surrounding the George Washington Bridge on the west shore of the Hudson River, just opposite New York City. The incredible palisades, the wooded paths and trails, even a historic re-creation of Ft. Lee- George Washington's strategic fortress during the American Revolution. Notice the tiny little red lighthouse… looks like nothing more than a traffic cone, but in reality, it's a 40' light house built decades ago, before the bridge was built in the 1930s.
