Another HOF layout. This was for the “Inventive Technique” assignment. I often utilize a technique I call “building”, which is taking a portion of a photo, like in this case tile, and through cutting & assembling, creating a new element. I completely configured the tile border from a photo of several tiles. I assembled it through duplication, rotation, and even cutting out the little divots to make the tile look real. This layout was created to help my children understand and appreciate their heritage. My husband is Assyrian, which are sometimes called Christian Kurds. His family origins are from Turkey, although they were not Turks. Bruce's father was born in this country, but Bruce is very interested in keeping his family name and history alive.
