Well! Totally not my usual style! Sometimes it's fun to shake things up a bit! The purpose of our vacation to Chicago this past week, was to celebrate the marriage of my nephew Clark to his Brazilian bride Monique. They were recently married in Brazil, and have just moved back to the states to live. This magnificent soiree was held in their honor. It was at the home of my niece Tracy, Clark's sister, who has a very modern, contemporary home right by Wrigley Field. I wanted to capture some of that contemporary flair, using colors Tracy has in her home. Rich orange-red, green, gold. Not a drop shadow in sight! I used my brushes in a couple of ways: first, I added a subtle brush pattern to the background (which, incidentally, is a closeup photo Bruce shot of a pleated paper lamp, filtered) I made the brush from some Dover art. Then, I created my own paint streak brush by painting with ink & scanning it. I dragged the brush across the ‘canvas’ for a dramatic look. Author & Walkway fonts.
