OMG. i HAVE SO MANY COMMENTS ON THIS LO! This so amazing. Your hubby is amazing. Are there any miniature hims running around? So happy for you winning the race. One of my oldest sisters has been a winner for almost 1 and 1/2. Now my aunt is running the race. Your lo is such a blessing to me. Thanks for sharing.
Your scrapping style is amazing - shows so much talent! TFS your wonderful survivor story. My mom was a breast cancer survivor, too, for which I am so thankful for I was only 3 when she was diagnosed! She lived to age 78!
Well, now I know that man of yours is something special! What an incredible story of courage and love, I'll think of you every year when I make a donation to a friend who runs with her mother every year, and double it!
Your work has always inspired me but now it is YOU that is inspiring me, I admire your courage, your strength of character and the way you live your life to the full (as is evident through your pages), I am so glad you 'won that race' BTW your husband sounds like an amazing man - you deserve him!!!Oh, I nearly forgot to say about your lo, wonderful, love the way you altered the photos, the little touches of pink - so apt, TFS such a personal and beautiful LO :)
Your layouts are just amazing, this is definitely one of my favorites, thanks for sharing your story. I like the way the pink looks with the gray paper.
Beautiful layout, and beautiful story of how you are a survivor! I'm so happy for you and your family! Give them all an extra hug and kiss. And I hope and pray you stay healthy! And I love the peek-a-boo with the feet! That what I do with my grandson all the time. Wonderful layout! (my mom lost her race at age 35 and left 7 children)
I called this LO "I heard you won that race" b/c that's what my husband says to me at least a couple of times a week. After I ran in my first Komen 5K, he turned to me (as I was cruising through a 300 yd lane of pink balloons) and said, "I heard you won that race"... I thought he was crazy. I certainly wasn't in last place, but I was definitely far from winning.
What he meant was (in general), the race against breast cancer. We weren't married until 4 years after my battle, but he reminds me often that I was strong enough to win the race... and he tells me even more frequently how guilty he feels that he wasn't there for me. Isn't he sweet?
He's always buying me pink things (shirts, shoes, my new Oakley sunglasses) and when he hands them to me, he whispers in my ear, "I heard you won that race". Gosh, I love him!
Anyway, the picture in the middle is my husband, my children, my mom and dad and me... at the Komen race in Houston 4 years ago.
The picture in the upper right was me when I looked the worst. Hmmm. I thought I looked pretty good through treatments, but when I look back at that picture, it scares me. The picture was taken about 3 months after my last treatment... it signified the end AND a new beginning. My girls have often looked at that picture as they've grown older. Each says they are glad they don't remember me looking so sick, or it would have really scared them. God's grace is a BIG thing, isn't it?
***If you are wondering why I have feet on the sides of my cheeks, it's one foot from each of my girls. They were laying on the floor and I was playing peek-a-boo with their feet (weird, I know, but it kept them laughing)***
I haven't completely journaled the tag yet, b/c I'm still working on some other pages... and I'm not sure that I want to put any words on the pages until I finish. I've got so much to say and as is usual for me, I have to get all the pictures on paper before the words come out right.
It was made with the September kit from iamascrapaholic.com. TFL! Aubrey
