<p>Ahh, Christmas. Unfortunately, 2008 was the year of no pictures. (Which might explain why I've signed up for TWO daily classes this year; I'm determined to make up for it.</p><p>But, really, life isn't perfect. We don't always get the photos we want. Sometimes we don't get any. Just because our house doesn't look like Martha decorated it for the holidays, just because our kids aren't in coordinating pajamas, just because I didn't get up an hour early on Christmas morning so I could look casually beautiful while opening presents doesn't mean that we can't still have pretty, meaningful pages. With our without photos.</p><p>My hournaling is from a blog post a few days after Christmas last year. In it, I&nbsp;detailed the things that went wrong last season, because that's how my life REALLY&nbsp;is. I added the ornament stickers, and a scalloped template (which I left the original color) and my title. A simple page, done in about 10 minutes. You know what, though? It makes me laugh. And 20 years from now, it will probably still make me laugh. And isn't that what it's all about?</p><p>Because, really, life isn't perfect.</p>
