This is a LO I did for the Melissa Frances Contest. As soon as I saw the label we had to choose it clicked about my job, as I use the Lil Miss Muffet nursery rhyme to explain my job.

Here's Journalling (inside the folder with paper tabs on the side): If I had a quarter for the number of times I’ve used this nursery rhyme to try explain what I do for a job, I sure I’d have enough money to purchase at least one or two more sets of alphabet stamps to add to my ever growing addiction….ummm…collection.

But back to my real job (see scrapbooking may be a way of life, but it certainly isn’t paying any bills yet!), I guess I should start with how my job ties into a silly old nursery rhyme. While I may not eat curds and whey like Miss Muffet, whey really is my bread and butter. The company I work for, Vitalus Nutrition Inc manufactures whey proteins, which are used in food products like protein bars, body builder products and so forth. Whey is a derivative of cheese production and the curds are what eventually becomes the cheese. Vitalus takes the whey and processes it to create ingredients for use in various food applications.

Now that I’ve got the product spiel out of the way, I can actually explain what it is that I do. I’ve worked for the same group of companies for just over 9 years, and in that time have held a variety of positions in reception, customer service and sales & marketing. I’m currently the Sales & Marketing Manager (a fancy title mostly in name, the job certainly isn’t as glamorous or high paying as it may sound) and I’m in charge of all the marketing materials, web site, tradeshows and do a bit of sales as well. I’ve had the opportunity to do some traveling, and as a result have gotten to visit some fun and exciting cities across the USA to do some scrapbook shopping and sightseeing…Umm…I mean visit customers and attend tradeshows. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to spend time with my son, attend to my household duties and scrapbook. One of the best parts is the commute. Or lack of. I live right next door to work and go into the office for the morning and work at home in the afternoon. I also have a great group of colleagues who I really enjoy working with including my brother who happens to be my boss.

While this job may not be my cup of tea every day, I’ve really enjoyed the challenges I’ve encountered and the opportunities I’ve had to continually learn along the way. Overall it's been a job that I’ve really enjoyed. One day I hope to take what I’ve learned here and move into a career with something that I am truly passionate about. I guess I’ll wait and see what the future holds in store for me

Papers: K&Co, Mustard Moon and Artistic Scrapper. File folder and “r” tab are Autumn Leaves, hinge (which I painted) is 7Gypsies.

Thanks for looking! Rachel :)
