I have been obsessed with one page layouts for awhile thanks to Kelly (Mama2My3Princes)who did the most beautiful layout of my DD, Meg @ age 5. This layout is called ~Welcome to GaGa's House~ and was inspired by the illustrious Renee Foss & her winning Chatterbox album. (Thanks Renee!!)The CS is bazzill, used a sizzix for the letters, used ACTUAL scrabble tiles. MM provided the name plate & ribbon. The clothes pin makes sense if you read the journaling:Welcome to GaGa's house. Grandaddy lived here too, but this is GaGa's house. 1749 Moline Street Aurora, CO 80010 This is a quaint little house in an old neighborhood. I spent my growing up years in this house. The important years anyway. GaGa is my maternal Grandmother. This picture equates a Grandma with a gray bun who bakes cookies. That was not the case. GaGa was a feminist before her time. She mowed her own lawn well into her later years. If the house needed painting you didn't have to wonder who was on the ladder. I vividly remember her on the roof fixing a shingle that had come loose. She was a spitfire. This is HER house. This house with black shutters sits next door to a Baptist Church. If you sit on the porch you are sure to see frollicking squirrels. A neighbor will stop by to chat. The enormous tree out front is a great climbing tree and there's a tire swing beckoning. The weather is nice as Colorado summers are notoriously perfect. Take a walk around the left side of this house and you're sure to find ancient peony bushes in full fuschia bloom. Walk around to the backyard and you'll find a vegetable garden with a border of marigolds. There is laundry on the line blowing in the breeze. The clothes pin holder is a little's girl dress all sewed up on the bottom. I really like the clothes pin holder. Venture inside and you'll find the furnishings are modest. GaGa calls the sofa “the divan”. There is a roast on the stove cooking for supper. It smells so good and you think of how good the tiny carrots will taste. At the kitchen sink you'll find a window overlooking the church and the giant steeple. Everytime you look out that window you wonder if you'll get married there someday. GaGa has been gone from this place for almost eight years now, but this is still GaGa's house. Welcome to GaGa's house.Love, Cami
