I'm honored to be a guest for Two Peas in a Bucket DESIGN SCHOOL and happy to show you the layout I created especially for this fun event!Inspired by the principle of BALANCE, I decided to work with a very straight and symmetrical design when it comes to my photos, by creating this collage of 6 photos on Photoshop and then printed it out on white cardstock. In order to “break” the clean and very square effect of my collage, I handcut a Studio Calico wood background paper and glued it in between my collage : curves, such as this wood paper, or the Hambly transparency that is at the bottom, allow my design to be more flexible, to be more balanced than if everything was straight and square.Balance also comes from the colors I used : mainly green, yellow and blue. For more ideas about balance, check this out : Balance is an equilibrium that results from looking at images and judging them against our ideas of physical structure (such as mass, gravity or the sides of a page). It is the arrangement of the objects in a given design as it relates to their visual weight within a composition. Balance usually comes in two forms: symmetrical and asymmetrical.
