You can't tell from this scan, but the old photograph has been tinted and Wilhelmina is holding red flowers and has a red dress on which match the Prima flowers on the right side. I made this LO with the September Kit from Scrappy Giraffe Kits.

Hidden Journalling Reads:
"This is a photo of Emil and Wilhelmina Bachman, my Great, great, great-grandparents in their garden in Manitoba, Canada. Emil and Wilhelmina were married in Magdeburg, Germany and then immigrated to Canada in the 1880’s while Whilhelmina was pregnant with their first child, Emil Wilhelm Bachmann, who was later born in Canada. That son was my Paternal Grandfather’s Father. Emil and Wilhelmina eventually had 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys. They homesteaded in Woodridge, Manitoba, Canada where they had a farm. In hopes of finding better farming land, they went across the border into North Dakota to see if their farming would fare better, but after the 2 years they returned to Woodridge.

Emil was a very jovial, happy-go-lucky man while Wilhelmina was very practical, sensible and much more serious. They were hard working people and very loving and affectionate parents whose children loved and adored them. My Father used to visit the farm in Woodridge as a young boy.

I love this photo of the two of them. They look happy and comfortable together. It is important to me to know that no matter what happened later in the Bachman family, these people were good people, hard workers and loving parents…they are my ancestors and I hope some of those positive values are in me.
