Give a Cheer
Give cheer Give a Cheer

The morning after we arrived in Florida, you woke me up while your Momma was still sleeping (as usual), so I took you to your Grandma's room to see if she was awake. She was still in bed but as soon as she saw me in the doorway with you she perked right up and insisted we come in. As soon as I sat on the bed with you, you leaned right over on her belly and I went to get the camera. When I returned I could hear you squealing before I even reached the door; you were sitting on her lap and the two of you were laughing and smiling at each other. I started snapping pictures immediately. Seeing the two of you together made me surreally happy. Before you were born, I was afraid you wouldn't have a bond with your Grandma like I did with mine because of the miles between us and also because of our differing opinions about your method of conception, but when I walked into that bedroom, I knew my fears could rest. Your Grandmother cherishes you like I prayed she would from the moment you were conceived...and that is something you can hold onto forever. April 2, 2004
