Journaling reads:“Mama, when are we going to go to the circus?”I sighed inwardly at your question, not wanting to disappoint you. The circus doesn't come to where we live, at least not the kind you were thinking about. The travelling circus that stops in our mostly rural community is filled with trained dogs and cats, not tigers and elephants, and the clowns look like the guys who collected our tickets and sold us popcorn.Over the next few days you ask again to go. Soon your little brothers chime in. Late one night, I hop on the internet and do a search for the Ringling Bros. Circus out of curiosity. They are touring the United States and will be in several of the surrounding states in the next few weeks. Pouring over the schedule and maps, I make plans to take you and your brothers to the circus. It takes us five hours of driving to get to New Jersey, multiple gallons of gas, several restaurant meals, and a nights stay in a hotel. It is a long trip, but one worth taking. It takes just moments for you to realize where we are. It takes just a second for your face to light up in a smile that doesn't seem to end. You watch the circus with wonder and delight on your face…I watch you.I capture your dreams coming true. I hope, Ryan, that I can always help you make your dreams come true!
