I inherited this big, old orange armchair from the boy when his family was getting rid of it. It had always caught my eye at their house, and I loved it. It was a comfy chair, and the color was just unique. I was so happy when I got to take it in, and now it's become one of my favorite things at my own place. It's my favorite spot to sit and read and relax. I joked that it was kind of like my throne, especially when I saw this photo, so that's where my title came from.I started with the orange from the chair, and added some yellow and turquoise blue to create my color scheme - it plays off the orange and blue in the photo, It also gives it a fun, feel. I used some vintage-y elements, such as the doily sticker, doily paper, and chair design (the orange paper also has sort of a retro design) to play off the oldness of the chair. I created my own accent by layering a doily sticker, label stickers and a chair design cut out from patterned paper (which was perfect for this theme!). I created my own photo corner by cutting a corner off a sheet of patterned paper. I pleated the fabric tape slightly to give it a little bit of texture.
