Journaling Reads:Alyssa has always had the unique ability to be present in her own solitude. She can sit down, draw, look at books, or watch the world without any real concept of the chaos around her. On this day, everyone in the house was doing their own thing when Alyssa quietly asked to go out front and use her sidewalk chalk. It was so nice to see her “alone” with herself in the middle of the buzz of traffic, chirping birds, chatting college students. Her time alone was short-lived, it didn't take long for her sisters to find her and join in. But I'm truly grateful for the times, like this one, when I get to just watch her be her.
