This is a 2 page layout I did detailing the first picture taken of me and my boyfriend on our first meeting. My boyfriend and I met online and this was from our first face to face meeting. The hockey jerseys in the picture were very significant as we met in a hockey chat room.
Journaling reads:
"Tom and I finally looked each other in the eyes for the first time on October 14, 2000. I had driven all day from New Jersey and met up with Tom as he got off work at Calvary United Church in London, Ontario, Canada.
In true female fashion I was late and had already seen him as he passed me in his car. He set out by car looking for me, Tom and was convinced I was lost, but I was just running late. We both pulled into the church at about the same time. Tom handed me a Coke Diete and I was so thankful, nerves had taken over and my mouth was so dry.
Once the initial shyness had worn off, we stayed up all night talking, after a year of talking online and on the phone one would think we wouldn't have much to to talk about, but somehow we found a way to fill the night.
In the morning, Tom had a hockey game so off to Silverwoods Arena we went to finally getting to see Tom play hockey. While I did see Tom play hockey and that was great, but more importantly I froze to death. I had been to arenas and hockey games before but nothing had ever been as cold as this one. It took me hours to thaw out! I am cold just thinking about it.
For the rest of the trip we just talked and really got to know one another. We did think to throw on our team jerseys and snap this one picture from my first trip to Canada....to London...to Tom!
