The journaling challenge this week is to look a little deeper at a photo or two and journal the story beyond the main subject. The journaling is all that needs to be said, except for the following disclaimer: I really am a nice person. This makes it sound like I wasn't, but when I was a kid I wasn't brave enough to be nice to the different kids. I'm not proud of that, and I've tried really hard to make up for it as an adult. Journaling: “This is a picture of me in the 2nd grade limelight. But every time I look at it, I feel a twinge of regret. The three other kids you can see in the picture have stayed in my memory for very different reasons. The girl in the middle was my best friend until another friend moved in, but we still send Christmas cards every year. So she's not the reason I feel guilty, it's the other two kids. They were both different, and for that reason, I never was mean to them, but I was never nice to them either. Wendy was a different religion. She didn't say the Pledge of Allegiance with us. She didn't celebrate the holidays with us. Her family must have been poor because she was always a little unkempt and smelled funny. She was not as smart and didn't have many friends. Casey was much the same. I never was mean to either of them, but I wish I had been nicer. I wish I could have had better memories of them.”

Products: kraft paper from Robert's Craft, letter stickers are Doodlebug, strips of cardstock are DCWV, WorldWin, and a packet of cheap scraps, photo corners are Canson. Pen is Micron.
