I know that for lots of people fall is their favorite season, but for me it's one of my least favorites. I'm a summer girl, and for me fall means the end of my favorite season, so I really had to sit down and think about things that I do like about this time of year. The changing leaves were the first thing that came to mind, but I recently scrapped those and didn't want to do another page of them so quickly. Then I spotted the new Glitz Halloween collection in the shop and thought of how much I do love fall holidays like Thanksgiving and Halloween, and I decided to scrap our pumpkin carving photos from last October.Pumpkins are really the biggest thing we do for Halloween, and photos of the event are usually all the documentation I have for the holiday. Without lots of pictures I really don't have a need for lots of Halloween product, so I ordered just the Whatnots and 6x6 pad from Glitz's Raven and a sheet of tiny stickers from Bella Blvd's Trick or Treat collection as my holiday themed purchases for the year. The 6x6 pad has lots of theme-neutral geometrics that will be perfect for non-Halloween layouts, too.I started the page with my photos and the “Merry Halloween” die cut from the Whatnots pack, along with two sheets of white cardstock. I usually group all of my photos together in a loose grid when I make a two-page layout, but this time I split them into three sections, as narrated by the journaling, and scrapped each as its own “mini layout,” making sure that they all coordinated and balanced each other out.I let the papers and embellishments from Raven dictate my colors scheme- lots of gray, black, and orange, with just a touch of yellow- and after I'd pulled out all of the Halloween elements I wanted to use, I went back through my stash of slightly older items to find pieces in coordinating colors (but definitely not from Halloween collections!) to finish things off. I was especially pleased to be able to use the Amy Tangerine Goodness Thickers in Slate here- they're an older release but still in the shop, and they are one of my all-time favorite fonts and colors!
