I had SO MUCH fun putting together a color themed layout this month…and I surprised myself by doing it with ZERO patterned paper!I started with five photos from a recent vacation highlighting the colorful sights of the Dominican Republic, and while I absolutely could have used a coordinating shade of patterned paper under each photo, I was inspired instead by Garden Girl Janna Werner's mist tecnique in this video [twopeasinabucket.com] to watercolor under my photos instead. After misting and adhering the photos, I added small bits such as die cuts, brads, and enamel dots to each section of color, then finished the whole layout off with a woodgrain Thicker title. With so much color going on in the middle of the page, I decided to the keep the focus there by leaving the rest of the page at white space and just adding a journaling card and a little bit of that fantastic Doodlebug rainbow washi down the side. You can put together a similar layout in any color scheme- just look at your supplies as a collection of colored objects rather than items adhering to a theme when you're selecting product for your page!
