Since I've been doing Project Life for all of 2012, I felt like a year in review layout would be a bit redundant for me (plus, I take TONS of photos and didn't want to wade back through them all to choose my favorites). Instead, I focused in on one of my favorite daily habits- working out at the gym- that I do almost every day of the year. (Actually, if I miss a day, I'm known to be rather grouchy.)In 2013 one of my focuses in scrapbooking is going to be mixing collections as well as trying to mix in some older products (with “old” being a relative term in scrapbooking, where new products are released continually) along with the new, and I put both of those ideas to work when making this layout.Since the two photos that I chose for my layout are fairly neutral, I was free to key off of the one bright color in them- the aqua in my shorts (yes, that's me under that big weight bar)- and build from there. I chose to start with Amy Tan's Sketchbook collection (I told you that old was a relative term!) for American Crafts since it also includes a similar aqua shade, and then I went searching through my stash of stuff for items that matched. Both the Simple Stories Sn@p collection and Elle's Studio's The Sweet Life worked well with the Sketchbook elements and make an appearance on this page. For the smaller gems I turned to Doodlebug pearls in Bubblegum (they make these in TONS of colors that go with just about any collection out there), and other accents on the page include masking using Opaque White Mister Huey by Studio Calico and a bit of Doodlebug's baker's twine.
