Journaling:
We checked in at the Albuquerque station and waited for the train. While outside an Amtrak employee told us that a freight train had derailed down the line and we would only be on the train as far as Flagstaff, AZ and then we would have to take a bus the remainder of the way.
Once in Flagstaff we had to wait an hour for the buses. We made stops in Buckeye AZ, Blythe CA, San Bernardino, and Riverside. The final stop was the Fullerton train station where we were very happy to get off the bus and head for home.
