I have a confession to make. I never really thought I’d enjoy scrapping! My sister introduced me to scrapping in 2003 after my daughter was born. She came for a visit and brought her wedding album and Creative Memories tools. I just had a little point and shoot camera and took pictures from a distance with lots of distracting background elements. I was impressed with the difference cropping could make! However, at the time we lived in a small space and I was busy learning the art of quilting. I had just completed a full size quilt and several wall hangings and wasn’t interested in taking up another hobby. So I told her scrapbooking wasn’t for me and that I wasn’t interested. Famous last words!
My mom was great about keeping baby books for my sister and I as well as putting all our pictures in albums with names, dates, and places. I wanted to do the same for my daughter but just wasn’t thrilled with the white paper and pictures cropped in circles. So while doing a search online I discovered Scrapbook.com! The layouts were beautiful. I registered in January 2005 and jumped in participating in swaps. The swaps gave me some freedom to experiment on smaller projects, learn new techniques, and just play while developing my style. I then moved on to the challenges board. The challenges board pushed my creativity even further and challenged me to think outside the box and I loved completing pages for my albums! Well, needless to say there was no turning back.! Only two years later and I am on my second digital camera, have albums full of layouts, and an entire room dedicated to scrapbooking! My husband and beautiful daughter mean the world to me! I am thankful that I discovered this amazing hobby that allows me to not only have a creative outlet but also preserve precious family mem
