Glad to see that the tooth fairy pays the same amount per tooth where you're at! Love it! My five year old just lost the same two teeth and I did two lo's about it! HA! I'm going to upload the second today. Love how you sewed on this and added the buttons as O's!!!! AMAZING work!
Wonderful lo! I love how the different pp are all angled different ways as they are layered! The only suggestion I have is to maybe ink the edges of the lo like you inked your pp. I love the different sewing too!
Dawn, that's so cute! I love the angles of your mats and of course like always your inking and stitching. Have you submitted it for publication? It looks so professional. :)
What a cute toothless grin there!!! I love the colors and the design of this page! It's so refreshing! It's just a great looking lo, and I remember the days of pulling teeth! He sure looks proud!!! Great lo!!!!
There is a relaxed and happy style to this lo. I like that in the photo, his shoulders are nude, and the background is black, so it makes him very visible. His smile is beautiful. The journaling is nice. Isn't youthful innocence a beautiful thing? I like the part about the ziploc bags. With your stitching, do you intentionally go past the edges of the paper? It is effective in the upper right, but I wonder if it would be better to limit that to an occasional thing, and end the stitching on the yellow floral paper and the polka dot paper, rather than letting the stitches drift past the ends of each. You are very good at titles, and I especially like the black letters of 'my' for they add weight and balance to this playful page.
What a great layout! loved all the fonts you chose and the pp/cs combination.
LOL - we did the ziploc bag - made it easier for us to get the tooth and then I would use a marker after getting it out and label the bag - so that later we could share it with them.
Journaling reads: Oh Scott my son you lost your first tooth today (Aug 24, 2006) by letting me pull it for you. For days you would not let anyone touch your tooth. We had no idea that both you bottom two front teeth were loose at the same time. You lost the one on the left first then three days later you lost your right tooth. You were so excited because the tooth fairy was going to come see you and leave you some money. You did not want to lose the tooth in your bed. You asked to have a zip lock bag so that way she would be able to find it under your pillow. So of course we gave you a bag just to ease your mind about it. You had to ask if she would take the bag too. Yes was the reply! You could not wait to get to bed that night. You check many of times to make sure it was still there before you nodded off to sleep. Needless to say the tooth fairy came. You were so excited because she did take that zip lock bag and left you a dollar bill! Oh what a happy boy you were. You did the exact same thing with your other front tooth. You put it in a zip lock bag just to make sure she got it safely. ****************************
