This one was a challenge for me, and having to work on a little bit here and there for almost a month. Time to scrapbook is harder to find these days.

I mimicked my LO design/background from the photo. The picture was taken by my dd from the back seat of the car, my son-in-law on the right, and the orphanage director on the left. This photo was taken as the front gate to the orphanage was opening up for them to pull in. Pulling in, they were about to meet their 23 month old soon-to-be son for the first time ever that they would be adopting in a couple days.

But there is so much more to this LO! Those first few photos of them meeting for the first time, the little guy was kind of scared. Those photos with him before he warmed up to them are very private moments that my daughter doesn't want to share with anyone. But I couldn't not include them in the album I'm making her. So with her permission I created the paper gate to open and glued those photos on the backside of the gate. (See other photos I included for close-ups of it opening.)

I got the the metal hinges and hook from a hardware store, used Tim Holtz black crackle paint to age it and to keep it from peeling off (cause it doesn't like sticking to the metal) I covered it with Glossy Accents after it dried.

The embossing folder to do the brick walls is made by Darice. The leaves are from the Heritage Cricute Cartrige, and the Gate from Ornamental Iron 2.

Thanks for looking, and I hope to catch up with so many of you that I have been out of touch with and check out your works of art in the near future. It has been one busy summer for me.
