velvet, satin, and other heavy fabrics from the times. The quilt was started in 1900 and many of the blocks are dated and signed....it's a beautiful quilt with embroidery and fancy stitching thougout. I have had it about 15 years.......need to see it as it's now only stored in my trunk....someone needs to love it...and display it.
