The large monkey is my first ever paper piecing! I used clipart as my pattern and modified it slightly.
Journaling: Grandpa Gene (ornery grandpa) started teasing Gabi the moment he heard about our upcoming vacation to the St. Louis Zoo. We had just gone in April and he told her we must have left Gabi at the zoo and brought home a monkey. We stopped to take Gabi's picture next to the bronze statue of an ape that was right next to a vendor. Gabi was looking at all the fun toys and when she walked around the display and saw the monkey mask she asked if she could get it! It was perfect! Grandpa had been teasing Gabi all week that we were going to leave her with the monkeys and bring his Gabi back! So she couldn't wait to show Grandpa her cute little monkey mask! Gabi and Grandpa have such fun together! They both love to tease!
