I hope you have some hidden journaling behind this LO telling your family that the paper dolls are yours from your childhood. That is just too precious!!! Love the way you used them here. This whole layout is really neat!! great job!!
How cute, funny and yet sweet all at once.......this is definitely an American thing ....roadside stops are not like they were in the 40's and 50's.......its another lost part of traveling....People don't auto travel anymore......! I love this......!!!! Great job!!!
Cathe, this is great! I always knew you were a bit goofy like me when we went into the photo-booth at Foxwoods! I love that you preserved some of your cut outs this way. I also love seeing you with long legs! The title is perfect!
I wanted this to convey that stopping for gas and standing behind a silly cut-out of Superman was an "American" thing to do. I also wanted to show that I can be a bit goofy. Most people would think I'm not. We were on a road trip with out friends headed for Asheville, NC. I think our friends thought I was nuts. I didn't care. The pattern papers are Pebbles. The lettering "the American Way" is cut with my Cricut. I used two of my old paper dolls on this for two reasons. I cut them out of my Jack and Jill magazine in the '50s. Since Superman was a tv show in the 50's. Also I assume my cut outs will be thrown out someday after I am gone. If they are in a scrapbook. They may get preserved. I played with my cut outs so much that the heads and arms would sometimes tear. That is why there is a brown mark on the girl's neck. It is old Scotch tape. LOL
