Photos from October 2009 taken while I was working on my dd's Halloween costume. Journaling says: My sewing machine got a work out this month because, this year, I had three costumes to make - two for Cassie and one for Grace Clark. My favorite was Cassie's Goth dress for Halloween. I also made her a medieval dress for All Saints' Day and a Statue of Liberty dress for Grace. I managed to get them all done with time to spare.

This is my example for my October Four Categories Challenge - Category One ~ Product: Sequins. I have some black and gold loose sequins in the bottom left, and I used part of a strand of black sequin trim on the waist of the dress form. The twist is to use at least 3 different patterned papers.

This is for:
1) October PageMaps Challenge - PageMap #4.

2) October Music Challenge - Title. My title is the title of a Smashing Pumpkins song. I did the twist to have a spider, pumpkin, or witch on the page - I have a tiny punched spider under the title.

3) VLB Challenge - Time.

I hate when my photos look great on the camera and in my computer, and then look terrible printed. So frustrating. Anyway. I used a piece of the pattern from my dd's Halloween costume that I'm making in the photos for the large block. The two rectangles and the skirt on the dress form are made from scraps of the three fabrics I used on it, so the top right is a metallic dot pattern, and the bottom left is black velour. I wrapped and adhered them around rectangles of black cs so they would hold their shape. I also used a scrap of trim from the costume across the top between the pattern and the pp. I used a little punched spider and a cat to give some Halloween flavor. I have a couple straight pins stuck in one of the fabrics, and I machine stitched across the bottom of the pattern.
