Stamp On Over Marathon Class - All Occasion Cards - October, 2014

I made all of these cards at an all-day Marathon Class at Stamp On Over in Sunnyvale, CA. The store has these sessions twice a year, and they are a lot of fun. Most of the die-cutting and paper trimming is done for us before we arrive. Usually there are two or three women wandering around helping us out, but this time there was only one. She was wonderfully patient and helpful. Thank you, Geri.

All the cards, except the Owl-O-Ween card are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. The Owl-O-Ween card is 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. I already gave it away so I can't double-check the size, but I think that's about right.

Butterfly cut from template, folded and glued with hot glue gun

*We were given some kind of twisty tie to wrap around the center of the butterfly to hold it together and to form the antennae. We couldn't get it to stay closed or to form the antennae with it, but it did keep the center together while we used hot glue to secure it. Then we put the black pearls on it, but they were precarious and I could only put on two. When I got home, I cut the twisty tie off and added glittered bronze paper clip halves for the antennae and repositioned the black pearls. It looked much better after that.

I don't remember what we used to color the image.

I think we stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black or Memento ink.
We were supposed to ink the edges of the patterned paper pieces as well as around the focal images, but I didn't realize that until after I'd attached the patterned paper pieces to the gray cardstock. I did ink the edges of the of the white cardstock pieces. I know I used Antique Linen Distress Ink around the sentiment because I did that at home, and I think we used Memento London Fog around the pirate and the scalloped mat.

The sample card had a second border that was supposed to go at the top, but I liked it better with just the one border. Also the sample card had another strip of Washi tape the width of the border placed behind the sentiment. I like this less elaborate version that allows more of the Washi paper to show.

We shaded the edges of all of the patterned paper pieces with ink.
The main background was a chevron pattern, but I messed it up when I stamped the sentiment so I had to use the other side—thus the circle pattern.

I apologize for all the "unknowns." It gets hectic, and I just didn't get all the information down. Also many of the stamps are unmounted, and I didn't know the name of the manufacturers. I've been searching the internet, and I'll add information as I find it.
