Oh it's such a beautiful figurine and a perfect heirloom with wonderful traditions! one day, when you give it to your granddaughter, you will tell her the story and show the page)) You picked the perfect colors to showcase the photo!
This is wonderful - how wonderful to have this heirloom piece to keep and pass down in your family. It is so nice to have family treasures like this. The layout is lovely and displays the photos beautifully - especially the color you chose! Love the matting on the photo on the left.
What a terrific LO from the page design to the color choice. Wonderful and unique way to do the journaling. How great you have such memories of your family.
I kept this LO simple to focus on the photos and the journaling. The large photo on the left (6x9) was one of my POD pics in January 2010. Journaling says: My grandma, Irma Irene Ingalls Avery, gave this figurine to me when I was a young girl. Her grandmother gave it to her in 1913 when she was 5 years old. Martha Peck Ingalls was the middle child of the thirteen children of Harriet Corey (1806-1887) and Sheldon Peck (1797-1869), the portraitist and abolitionist. As much as I treasure this piece, the part that is most special to me is the scrap of paper stuck to the bottom with my great, great grandmother's handwriting.
This is my example for my December Four Categories Challenge - Category Four ~ Theme: Objects. I have the twist to use only photos with no people in them.
